A new world of freedom and adventure opens up to Miles when he meets the somewhat eccentric Francis who inspires him to stop working and spend the last few weeks of the summer with him on his dilapidated barge. While house breaking they meet Lucy with whom they share a feeling of not being ready to face up to becoming a part of the adult world.

Set in the seaside town of Maldon, each of them has something to run away from. They leave town and go on an adventure by boat, not knowing where they will end up, they soon discover the beauty of the place they live in. For a short while they have everything they need. In the summer sun everything seems fine but sooner or later they will have to face up to the trouble that they are running from.

Daniel Fawcett’s second feature film is a playful and poetic adventure story about growing up and breaking free. The action unfolds in long handheld shots, which are punctuated by moments of Super 8 footage and an atmospheric soundtrack by The Dead Rat Orchestra.
